What we bring

Who we are

Julissa grew up in a low-income, Latinx neighborhood in Miami, where she saw how many brilliant people were shut out of high-paying careers—not for lack of talent, but lack of access. Years later, while working in product design at Airbnb, Afterpay, and Walmart, she noticed that most of her peers hadn’t gone to design school (herself included)—they’d simply found another way in. That realization sparked a bigger question: what if more people from communities like hers had that same shot?
She launched VECTR Studio in 2022 to help answer that question. A Harvard graduate, MIT Sloan MBA candidate, and Morningside Academy of Design Fellow, Julissa is building new pathways into design—ones that reflect the full range of talent, perspective, and creativity that’s long been overlooked.

Shaped by her Filipino heritage, Theresa knows the best ideas come from many voices—not just the loudest ones. With years of design experience, she’s seen how often women of color get left out of the room, and she’s determined to change that.
Theresa is especially passionate about product design, a career that touches nearly every product we use and deserves more empathetic voices at the table. She believes great designers aren’t defined by a specific degree or background—she herself discovered design after majoring in something entirely different. Through VECTR, she’s helping build space for fresh talent to shine and proving that design is stronger (and way more exciting) when it’s inclusive, accessible, and truly reflective of the people it serves.
